In an Instagram post, Lyca Productions revealed that the movie’s new release date is September 28.

The release date for Chandramukhi 2 has been moved to September 28 owing to technical difficulties, the production company said in a video that it had posted. The return of Vettaiyan & Chandramukhi will be much more furious.

The P. Vasu-helmed movie was initially slated to premiere on September 15.

The film “Chandamukhi 2” is a continuation of the 2005 film “Chandramukhi,” which starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika. The story centers on a lady who has a family-wide dissociative identity disorder and a psychiatrist who wants to solve the case at any cost.

The director’s own Kannada film Apthamitra (2004), which is an adaptation of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1993), was the inspiration for Chandramukhi.
