Report: Meta may soon release its own AI model to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4

According to a source, Meta, previously Facebook, is getting ready to create a new artificial intelligence (AI) model that would rival the strength of OpenAI’s most recent chatbot, GPT-4. According to rumors, Meta is making significant investments in its AI capabilities, including the development of its infrastructure and the purchase of more Nvidia H100 AI-training processors.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-174962″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-download-5-3.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com download 5 3″ width=”1251″ height=”694″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-download-5-3.jpg 301w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-download-5-3-150×83.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1251px) 100vw, 1251px” title=”Report: Meta may soon release its own AI model to compete with OpenAI's GPT-4 12″>

The Wall Street Journal further reports that Meta plans to start training for this next large language model (LLM) in early 2024. According to reports, the new AI model would first be made freely accessible to businesses and researchers by Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg. This tactic seems to be in line with Meta’s goal of “democratizing AI” and making it freely accessible for a range of applications.

The article also said that Meta has established a specialized team to produce this AI model, with a focus on creating AI tools that can accurately replicate human emotions.

Code Llama was an AI tool created by Meta in the past for writing new code and fixing human-written code. A large language model (LLM) called Code Llama can generate and discuss code using text prompts. Its objective is to simplify developer operations and facilitate learning for prospective programmers.

A specialized version of Llama 2 called Code Llama has the potential to be both a productivity tool for developers and a learning tool for those looking to improve their coding abilities.

As a sign of Meta’s interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and its plans to launch something novel soon, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the formation of a specialized product team earlier this year.

In the meanwhile, Meta is getting ready to launch Quest 3 in the near future. In order to create a healthy market, the business has already begun lowering the price of Quest 2.
